PAINESVILLE, Ohio- Lake Erie College Director of Athletics Kelley Kish has selected Logan Smith as the newly created Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations and Administration.
In his position, Smith will oversee the department's game operations, facilities and strategic communications. Smith will serve as a key member of the department's leadership team and provide general administrative support to all 17 sports in the areas of scheduling, team travel and more.
"Logan Smith is a top flight administrator who will make an immediate impact on our department's internal operations." added Director of Athletics Kelley Kish. "His G-MAC knowledge is a welcome addition to our staff, as we continue our second year of membership in the conference. His positive attitude and excitement to be part of our department will fit right in as work to help our student-athletes become champions in the classroom, sport and our community."
Smith joins the Storm after spending over 9 years at fellow Great Midwest Athletic Conference member Walsh University. In his role at Walsh, Smith was responsible for the communication efforts of the department, working closely with their game operations staff.
Smith added, "I'm very excited to start this new opportunity in life with Lake Erie College just as any person accepting such a position should, and that level of excitement builds with each passing moment," said Smith. "I see so much potential with the Storm athletic department and can't wait to jump in. Leaving Walsh won't be easy since I've spent more time here than any one 'season' of life. However, I'm glad to stay in Northeast Ohio and remain involved with the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. I am greatly appreciative of Athletic Director Kelley Kish for giving me this opportunity. From the times I have visited Jack Britt Memorial Stadium with the Cavaliers for various events in the past year and talking with her during this process, I know greater things are ahead for Lake Erie College."
A native of West Virginia, Smith earned his bachelor's degree from West Liberty University and Master's of Business Administration from Walsh University. Smith is an avid volunteer, completing local service projects as well as traveling domestically and internationally on various mission trips.
Smith will start at Lake Erie College by early November.
