PAINESVILLE, Ohio – PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Lake Erie College track and field athletes Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Walnut Grove (Ga.)) and DJ Graham (Gomer, Ohio / Columbus Grove) were named the Lake Erie SAAC Student-Athletes of the Month for their performances in the month of January.
Corbin in the month of January hit an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the long jump. She has also took first, second, and third place honors at various meets in the past month. Head Coach Grant Lofdahl added "Danielle had a tough fall with some nagging injuries, but ever since the spring semester started she has been on a roll. She is currently ranked 3rd in the GLIAC (and in the top-40 in D2) in the long jump, 5th in the triple jump after a PR last weekend".
Graham broke school records on three separate occasions in the month of January. He broke the 3000 meter school record and then the next weekend, he broke his record again. He also set the school record in the 5000 meters. In the month of January Graham had a win and three second place finishes. Coach Lofdahl said "DJ has already had a heck of a senior year. He broke the school record in both the 3000 and 5000-meter runs in January, and currently ranks in the top-15 in the GLIAC in both of those events as well as as the Mile run".
